For many in the Diaspora, coming to Ghana is about finding a missing piece of themselves. The Naming Ceremony Tour goes beyond sightseeing. It allows you to reclaim your identity in a traditional ceremony performed by Chiefs and Elders.

Your Homecoming Itinerary
06:00 AM – Private Pickup
We pick you up directly from your location in Accra. Settle into your air-conditioned vehicle. The 3.5-hour drive is a time to prepare your mind and spirit for the day ahead, all while we navigate the roads for you.
Stop 1: The Cleansing (Assin Manso)
We begin at the “Last Bath” (in a river sparkling with gold). This is where our ancestors took their final bath before being marched to the coast. It is a solemn site, but walking in the river serves as a spiritual cleansing to prepare you for your naming.
Stop 2: The Naming Ceremony
This is the highlight of your journey. You will be welcomed by the traditional leaders (Chiefs/Elders). Through the pouring of libations, they will invoke the spirits of the ancestors to welcome you home. You will receive your True Soul Name (based on the day of the week you were born) and a certificate of your new identity.
Includes: Presentation of certificate and traditional sash/cloth.
Stop 3: Celebration Lunch
We end the experience at a popular Diaspora-favorite restaurant right on the water. Enjoy fresh local food, the sea breeze, and reflect on your new status as a true son or daughter of the soil.
Stop 4: Elmina Castle
With your new name and identity, you will enter Elmina Castle. Walking through the dungeons and the “Door of No Return” feels different when you have already been welcomed back. It is a powerful moment of resilience.
Return to Accra
The drive back is long, but necessary. Rest in the comfort of your private car, safe in the knowledge that you are returning not just as a visitor, but as family.

Honestly I was kinda nervous about this trip because its such heavy history. The river walk at Assin Manso was really powerful, i definitely cried. The driver was super patient with us and the car was comfy which helps cause its a long drive. Glad we went private so we didnt have to worry about anything. Just a really special day.
