Frequently Asked Questions

Airfare & Travel Information

Participants are responsible for booking their own airfare to and from Ghana. Please plan to arrive on July 7th, 2025. Accommodations will be available after 3:00 PM, so you’ll have time to settle in and start your adventure.

Your tour will conclude on July 16th, 2025, with accommodations and services ending at 11:00 AM.

Airport Transfers
To make your travel as smooth as possible, we provide free shuttle service to and from the airport from the tour accommodations. Simply arrange your flight to arrive and depart at times that work best for you within these dates, and we’ll take care of the rest!

Early Arrival or Late Departure
If you’d like to arrive before or depart after the scheduled tour dates, please contact Expat Life Tours to arrange and pay for additional nights at the hotel as well as line up drivers, additional day trips, or real estate tours.

What if I need to cancel or change my booking?

Your $250 deposit is non-refundable, but if you need to cancel your tour, please reach out to us at least 120 days before your tour date for a full refund (minus the deposit).

Is this tour good for first-time visitors to Ghana?

Yes! This tour is perfect for first-time travelers who want to experience Ghana’s rich culture and heritage in a comfortable and welcoming environment. With a mix of guided activities and free time, you’ll be able to explore the best of Ghana while being supported by local experts.

Are the accommodations comfortable?

Absolutely! We’ve selected accommodations that offer both comfort and authenticity, so you can relax after a day of adventure. You’ll enjoy amenities like air conditioning, hot water, and comfortable bedding, ensuring a good rest every night.

What Should I Bring?

Clothing: Comfortable clothes that is light and airy. Don’t forget swimwear for hotel pools and beach outings!
Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes for city tours and nature hikes.
Personal Essentials: Sunscreen, insect repellent, and any personal medication you may need.
Pack Light: You’ll want to bring back as much as possible, so pack light. Most airlines permit 2 suitcases per person, each up to 50 lbs.

What should I do to prepare?

Health: Make sure to check with your doctor about any recommended vaccinations for travel to Ghana. It’s always a good idea to get travel insurance, too.
Airfare: Book your airfare early to get the best deals and note changes to visa requirements when flying through European nations.

Documents: Bring your passport. Apply for a Ghana visa early. Consider travel insurance (optional but recommended).

Is the tour physically demanding?

While most activities are low-key, accessibility features are not common in Ghana. You may be asked to walk on uneven paths, use stairs, and access high-profile vehicles. However, there’s always an option to take things easy and enjoy the cultural experiences without being overly active.
